With a vision for a collaborative future for sustainable mining practices, DPI uses partnership-based grassroots involvement to explore, experiment and execute, leading innovation towards win-win solutions.
With growing public interest in mining practices, we’re shifting from consultation to participation when it comes to community groups and key players generating more opportunities for development. By creating a platform for stakeholders and owners, Indigenous and young people, innovators and community groups, DPI is changing the way challenges within the mining value chain are addressed.

OUR PROGRAMS
Mining Innovation and Research Battlefield
THE CHALLENGE
Build fruitful collaborations to pilot innovation and research at speed, acting globally but with a regional, community-based focus on specific issues.
THE ACTORS
DPI brings together the mining industry, academia, business, NGO’s and young people with a vested interest in sustainable solutions to development.
THE RESPONSE
Competitively but inclusively introducing passionate, bold young researchers and entrepreneurs to opportunity and encouragement. We’ve witnessed exciting possibilities born in an atmosphere that encourages viable solutions for some of the industry’s toughest challenges.
YOUTH SALON
THE CHALLENGE
To understand the perspectives of two of the global minerals value chain’s biggest stakeholders: Youth and Indigenous people.
THE ACTORS
DPI, in partnership with the First Nations Major Projects Coalition, connects young people and First Nations people to discuss the challenges facing them worldwide and their concerns for the future amidst the growth of the resources and energy sectors.
THE RESPONSE
Building a platform from which to understand and address these challenges and concerns in a collaborative manner.
COUNTRY CATALYSTS
THE CHALLENGE
A specific, complex regional or national mining value chain challenge, perhaps stalled progress on growing prosperity or a highly oppositional situation.
THE ACTORS
Using a proven, inclusive and fair process and a safe platform for dialogue, DPI brings together impacted stakeholders and owners ranging from government agencies and community leaders to representative bodies, multinational companies and small businesses.
THE RESPONSE
Co-creation of new, impactful solutions that proceed to pilot programs and sustainable, future-focused value chains, resulting in exploration and execution.
RESCO - The Responsible Sourcing Coalition
THE CHALLENGE
To quantify what it means to source responsibly right across the mining value chain, share knowledge to navigate the complexities, and to take collective action.
THE ACTORS
DPI brings together the value chain – from impacted communities to investors to consumer-facing companies, creating connections that lead to outcomes.
THE RESPONSE
RESCO, both a coalition and platform for deep engagement, learning and discovery to accelerate mining’s transformation from extractive industry to development partner.
